About Bell

Bell is a picturesque country township in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, located in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains and approximately 39 kilometres north of Dalby. Surrounded by rolling farmland and natural beauty, Bell is known for its peaceful lifestyle, rich farming heritage, and welcoming community spirit.

The area’s history dates back to the early European settlers of the 1870s, and Bell officially grew with the arrival of the Bell Branch railway line in 1906. The town was named after Sir Joshua Peter Bell, owner of the historic Jimbour Station.

Today, Bell is a gateway to the Bunya Mountains and nearby regional attractions, offering visitors easy access to bushwalking, wildlife, scenic drives, local art, and country hospitality. It remains a proud rural town with deep roots and plenty to discover.

About the park

Family-owned and owner-operated by Emilia and Stuart Wilson, Bell Tourist Park is a peaceful and welcoming place to stay in the heart of Bell, Queensland. The park has proudly been owned by the Wilson family for the past five years, offering guests genuine country hospitality in a relaxed rural setting.

Originally the district’s cattle sale yards, the property later transformed into a caravan park in the 1980s and has continued to welcome travellers ever since. Today, Bell Tourist Park offers cabins, powered and unpowered sites, camping areas, and quality facilities for overnight visitors, workers, families, and holidaymakers.

Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer escape, guests can enjoy open space, quiet surroundings, beautiful sunsets, and starry country skies while experiencing the charm of regional Queensland.

"We had a great week here. Very relaxing. Only a small park. Couple of drive throughs and a few with pads. Convenient spot to take in nearby points of interest. Kingaroy an hour away. Dalby 1/2 an hr. Bunya Mountains 1/2 hr away. Kumbia pub and The Bun pub nearby. If you want a break from your hectic life, this is the spot."

"Welcomed on arrival. Green grassy sites, neat and tidy. We had a cabin and whilst age is not on its side it was super clean and provided everything we needed. The towels were soft and slightly perfumed. We would definitely stay again. The town of Bell is also neat and very tidy, so well maintained, such a lovely little town."

"Stayed 2 nights. We had a shady spot and explored the Bunya Mountains. Great catavan park location for easy access to the mountains along the back roads. It's a small and quiet park which suited us perfectly. A couple of onsite vans for workers but again, very quiet and respectful. Owner extremely helpful. There's a good camp kitchen and lots of seating scattered under the trees. While the surrounding area is in need of a good rainfall, the park is green and very well tended. We did a quick stop to look at the Biblical Gardens but didn't have time to try the well regarded cafe in town. If you go to the Bunya mountains beware of bush ticks."
